Ji-Sun's wedding

A coworker at Plus got married last week. It was our first, but hopefully not last, Korean wedding. The ceremony was a lot more relaxed than I would have imagined it to be. People freely came and left during the entire ceremony. The wedding itself is divided into three parts. The first is a Western style ceremony with the bride dressed in white and the groom dressed in a suit. After that portion of the day, everyone goes to a banquet hall for a ridiculously awesome spread of food. The slide show below should have explanations of what everything is. The bride and groom change into traditional Honbaks (a formal traditional dress or suit) and the circle the dining hall to say their hellos and thank yous. They then go down to a replica of an old Korean living room and perform a traditional Korean wedding ceremony. In this room, the bride and groom pay respect to their elder family members, serving them traditional Korean snacks and some type of liquor. At this point everyone goes their own direction as the ceremony is winding down.

The whole wedding takes place in one facility and their are several weddings going on simultaneously. As each portion of the ceremony ends, a few minutes are allotted for setting up for the next couple and then away they go!

Enjoy the slideshow. We've been really busy and I have a lot to post, so check back soon! We miss everyone at home.

Take care, Dave and Savannah.
