New Toy!

We got a new toy today! After a few months of deliberation, the choice was made to purchase a Nikon D40 DSLR. It's beautiful.

From Things to blog about

I'm looking forward to taking many pictures this weekend. The cherry blossoms are blooming here, so I think this should be a perfect opportunity to try out the camera. In fact, the upcoming cherry blossom festivals were the tipping point for making the purchase. The trees are just too beautiful to be captured with our tiny little brick of a Kodak (it's a trooper) that's been dropped more than its fair share of times. We'll still hold onto that camera as a backup and as a camera to take out when conditions aren't good for the D40. Here are some of the virgin shots taken with the new toy! Click on any of them to see a larger image. There is a zoom option in the top right corner of the linked website to take a closer look at some of the pictures.
