We're at the seven month mark in our stay here in Korea. Because of this, we find ourselves longing for some tastes of home a little more frequently than we used to. The funny thing is that I've started developing cravings for food that I didn't even eat back home. I get excited to see pringles, which I never ate before. So imagine my excitement when a crazy orange cheetah beckoned my name from the discount bin of our local Lottemart. I snagged the bag, threw it in our basket, and didn't give it another thought until last night. I was in the mood for a snack, and it was a perfect time for a taste of home. I grab my bag of Cheetos, pop open the bag, and notice a funky smell. It kind of smells like raw flour and a medicine cabinet. These aren't your average Cheetos. I check the bag to make sure it's not made in China and I don't see China written anywhere in Korean, so I dig in (there have been several cases of dangerous chemicals found in food that was made in China here).
They're supposed to taste like spicy chicken cheese balls. Of course......they don't. However, they're not terrible. At least it's a new snack.
