KBS News Program

I played a very small role in a news program similar to Dateline or 60 minutes back home. A reporter for KBS (one of Korea's largest television companies) was doing a story comparing English education in Finland and Korea. He wanted to find out why Korean children have such a hard time developing their conversation skills while students in other countries seem to pick up those skills so easily. Finland was his choice as Finnish is only spoken in that country and the language is quite different from English. It is a similar situation to that of Korea, however I have my reservations about his conclusions in the article. I didn't really even know what the piece was about until after the filming was completed. Everything said during the filming was said in Korean and I wasn't filled in on what I was actually doing until afterwords. Anyways, it was a pretty cool experience. If you fast forward to around 7:55, you can see the part I'm in. I'm only on for a couple of seconds. I feel really bad for the girl I was interviewing. She's a really good student and was put in a nerve-racking position. Here's the clip. Check it out while you can, I'm not sure if YouTube will keep it up for very long.

Ok, they took it down. Try this link.

If you click on that link, it will open up a new window with the video. Sorry about all of the hassle.
